Guidelines and Procedures for the Organization of ISMAR Sponsored Events

The objectives of the International Society of Magnetic Resonance, ISMAR, are to advance and disseminate knowledge of the principles, recent developments and applications of magnetic resonance in physics, chemistry biology, medicine and other disciplines; to foster scientific interaction among magnetic resonance spectroscopists throughout the world.

With this in mind, in addition to its regular triennial meetings, ISMAR offers sponsorship for conferences, workshops, schools in all fields on Magnetic Resonance with emphasis on rapidly growing MR communities and fostering young scientists.

Guidelines, Benefits

• The announcements and any written material about the event should include the ISMAR label.
• The ISMAR sponsorship can be adjusted to the specific needs, e.g.,
  • Moderate financial support for student participation,
  • Travel support, an ISMAR-sponsored lecture
  • Free ISMAR-membership for two years for the participants at the event.
• The event will be advertised on the ISMAR website.

Application

The organizer of such an event should

• contact the President or the Secretary General, at least 6 months before the event will take place,
• provide a short written proposal, describing the scope of the event, and what kind of sponsorship is asked for,
• seek support in writing from an ISMAR Officer, Council Member, or Fellow.

The ISMAR officers will decide within a reasonable time on the application and if approved, decide on the amount of support.

Report

Within 6 months following the event the organizers should provide a short written report including a statement about the benefits of ISMAR sponsorship. The report will be presented to the ISMAR Council at its next regular meeting.
